Travelers' health statistics

by CDC Foundation
A travelers' health statistics shown by an infographic created by the CDC Foundation’s Business Pulse series indicates that doing pre-travel health consultation and having travel insurance are of utmost importance.
It is demonstrated that for every 100,000 travelers visiting a developing country for one month, approximately
  • 50 percent of them will experience some health problem while abroad,
  • 8,000 will need to be seen by a doctor,
  • 5,000 will be confined to a bed,
  • 300 will be admitted to a hospital,
  • 50 will require air evacuation, and
  • 1 will die on a trip
